PONO is excited to launch badass, Princess Ruth. Often portrayed as a rebel, Her Highness, Ruth Luka Keanolani Kauanahoahoa Keʻelikōlani is one of our favorite Royals. Ruth, a defender of Hawaiian tradition seemed to handle it all – from stopping erupting volcanos to being an astute business woman whose fortune became the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estate (Kamehameha Schools). Ruth beautifully balanced herself between two worlds. In a time when many Hawai'ians saw themselves and their culture disappearing while being corralled into Western ideas and systems, Ruth maintained a truly PONO spirit.
